Technology
Choosing the right dehumidifier starts with understanding how it removes water from air. Each method excels in different conditions.
The workhorse for everyday climates. Air is drawn over a cold evaporator coil — moisture condenses, falls into a collection system, and dry air is returned to the room.
A silica honeycomb wheel actively absorbs water vapour — even at sub-zero temperatures where compressors stall. Continuous, precise, low-temp drying.
Hybrid units that hold a target RH band by removing or adding moisture as needed. Wet-membrane evaporative humidification, isenthalpic and clean.
Applications
Match the right unit to the room, the load, and the regulatory target.
Apartments, terraces, basements. Mobile or wall units handle 500–2,000 sq ft with quiet inverter compressors.

How to size
A starting reference. The right model depends on insulation, occupancy, and target RH — share your room with us and we'll model it.
Questions
A refrigerant unit cools incoming air past its dew point — water condenses and is drained. It's most efficient in warm, humid air (15–35°C). A desiccant unit uses a silica wheel that adsorbs water vapour directly, so it works at low temperatures (down to −20°C) where refrigerant coils would frost over. For a typical home in a tropical climate, a refrigerant unit is the right choice. For cold rooms, pharma, or precision labs, choose desiccant.
As a rule of thumb, a well-insulated home needs 0.5–1 L/day per 10 sq ft to hold a comfortable 50–60% RH. Heavy moisture loads (basements, indoor pools, post-flood drying) can demand 5–10× more. The sizing table above is a starting reference — share your floor plan and we'll size it precisely.
For human comfort and to discourage mould and dust mites, 50–60% RH is the sweet spot. Below 40% the air starts to feel dry; above 65% you risk condensation, mould growth, and dust-mite proliferation. Galleries and wine cellars typically target 50–55% with tighter ±2% control.
Yes — ceiling units use short-run ductwork to distribute dry air through a void above the ceiling, with grilles in each zone. This lets one unit serve multiple rooms quietly. Slim-line models (UTC series) install in just 200 mm of plenum.
Modern DBA ceiling units run 38–48 dB at 1 m — about as loud as a quiet conversation, and noticeably quieter than a portable air conditioner. Mobile units sit around 48–55 dB. Industrial floor units are louder by design and best installed in plant rooms.
Yes. Most DBA commercial models include RS485 with Modbus, allowing direct integration with BMS platforms for centralised setpoint control, alarms, and runtime telemetry.
